The heat is on for Week 21, as we continue in thermodynamics

Week 20 Summary
This week we completed Chapter 8 and started Chapter 9 - Matter and Energy, which is broken down accordingly:

On Thursday during our Zoom meeting, I explained that there are three temperature scales that we use for measuring temperature: 1) Fahrenheit, 2) Celsius, and 3) Kelvins.
During class we performed exercises converting between these three units. The equations for converting from Celsius to Fahrenheit, and Fahrenheit to Celsius are above right. To convert from Celsius to Kelvins, you simply add 273 to degrees Celsius.

Test #5 covering Chapters 7 and 8
I emailed to your parents on Wednesday Test #5 covering Chapters 7 and 8. This is a closed-book, closed-note test. Please make sure they proctor this and sign on the exam Answer Sheet where indicated, and place in a sealed envelope with their signature across the seal. Since the Snow Day on Thursday did not enable me to return your Chapter 7 Homework and quizzes, I told everyone they could turn this exam in on Thursday, February 10th.
What to expect in Week #21
This week we will continue in Chapter 9. On Tuesday were going to carry out the Cooling Curve for Stearic Acid laboratory, so make sure you go through Skill & Practice 9B - Reading a Heating/ Cooling Curve, to prepare you for the lab.
