Week 29 Summary
This week in your reading and video-watching, you should have started Chapter 16 - Electromagnets and Induction, comprised of the below sections:
Section 16.1 - Electric Current and Magnetism
Section 16.2 - Electric Motors
Section 16.3 - Electric Generators and Transformers
On Tuesday we completed the Skill & Practice 16A - Transformers. On Thursday we discussed in more depth the Electric Motor Laboratory you will be doing this coming Tuesday.
What to expect in Week 30
On Tuesday we will finish up Chapter 16 - Electromagnets and Inductionwith the completion of the Electric Motor Laboratory. Make certain you print this lab out and bring with you to class.
On Thursday, we will also complete Chapter 17 - Fields and Forces. Now before you panic that we are going through material too fast, the only homework you will complete for this chapter is what we cover in the Skill & Practice exercises during class. Much of this chapter is also a repeat and application of what you learned in previous chapters. It has the following sections:
Section 17.1 - Fields and Forces
Section 17.2 - Gravity
Section 17.3 - The Electric Field
For upcoming test purposes, you only need to watch the videos carefully and understand the content on the Skill & Practice assignments. You probably will not need to even read this chapter, merely glance through it as a resource to assist you in the Skill & Practice assignments.
